The First True Production Model Porsche

Even though the Porsche 64 is considered by many to be the first car produced by the company it was really only a test car and was never built as a production automobile, in fact only three were built. The 364 was built by Ferdinand and Ferry Porsche after design by Erwin Komenda, while getting its engine modeled after the VW Beetle.

Not many people know, however, that when the van was originally designed, the plans were to have it be named The Bully. The company itself, if not the dealers, has been in existence for more than one hundred and fifty years. The founder of Vauxhall Motors was Alex Wilson, the factory he opened originally manufactured pumps and engines, it wasn't until the turn of the century, or more precisely 1903 when the company produced its first motor car. Air cooled engines, water cooled engines, and others are the most common. The parts that have been used for the cars have gone through many changes since the first model rolled off of the assembly line in the late 1930s. .
